Since the late 1960s, Good News Baptist Church has served St. Maarten with a steady commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our story
Faithful through generations
Good News Baptist Church began in the early months of 1967, when Brother Donald Granstaff started services in a private home on French Saint Martin. The work soon grew in French Quarter and St. Peters through open-air services, preaching, song, and the faithful service of believers and pastors.
Land was made available in the early 1970s, and the church continued to grow through changing seasons of leadership and ministry. A new worship building was completed and dedicated in October 2011. Through storms, rebuilding, outreach, and expanding opportunities for Christian teaching, GNBC’s story remains one of God’s faithfulness.
Today, the church continues under the confirmed leadership of Senior Pastor Roderick Webster, who began his tenure in April 2004.
