GNBC’s doctrine is grounded in the authority of Scripture and centered on the saving work of Jesus Christ.
Our church covenant
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, and on the profession of our faith having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.
We engage, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; support its ministry, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.
We engage to maintain family and personal devotions, educate our children in the faith, seek the salvation of those we know, walk carefully in the world, deal justly, speak graciously, remember one another in prayer, aid one another in sickness and distress, and pursue reconciliation without delay.
Doctrine

We believe in an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He concerns Himself mercifully with people, hears and answers prayer, and saves from sin all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:12–17; 1 John 5:14–15We believe in the pre-existence of Jesus Christ as God. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary; He died on the cross, arose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God.
Isaiah 42:8; John 1:1, 15, 27, 30; John 6:38, 51, 61–62; John 8:58; John 17:5; Philippians 2:6–8; Matthew 1:18–25; 1 Corinthians 15:2–4; 1 Peter 3:18We believe the Holy Spirit is a Person. He convicts, regenerates, indwells, guides, and empowers believers.
Acts 1:8; Romans 8:11–16; Ephesians 5:18; Titus 3:5; John 14:16–17We believe in one God eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19–20; Hebrews 1:3; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; Mark 1:10–11; Acts 1:4–5We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, plus nothing and minus nothing.
John 3:16; Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 John 5:13We believe in the verbal inspiration of the Bible. The Old and New Testaments are equally inspired by God, without error in the original writings, the complete revelation from God to humanity, and the final authority for Christian faith and conduct.
Acts 1:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:19–21We believe humanity was created by God in His image and likeness but deliberately fell into sin. As a result, the human race became alienated from God and is lost without Christ.
Romans 5:12; Titus 3:5; Psalm 51:5; Isaiah 64:6We believe all born-again believers are eternally secure in Christ. This is not a cause for careless living, but a blessed truth from the Word of God.
John 5:24; John 10:27–30; Romans 8:38–39; 1 John 5:11–13We believe Jesus shed His blood for the sins of the whole world. Without the shedding of blood, there is no atonement for sin.
Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 9:22; 1 Peter 1:18–19We believe people are justified by faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Faith produces Holy Spirit regeneration.
Romans 3:24; Romans 4:4–5; Romans 5:1; Galatians 2:16We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ. God will bring the world to an end in His own way and time. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and the endless joy of the righteous.
Revelation 3:10; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Corinthians 9:25; 1 Thessalonians 2:19; James 1:12; 2 Timothy 4:8; 1 Peter 5:4We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the everlasting blessedness of the saved in heaven, and the everlasting punishment and separation from God of the unsaved in hell.
According to Scripture, we believe God created humanity male and female and that these physical, mental, and emotional states should not be altered based on personal preference. Though we cannot condone sexuality contrary to Scripture, we believe God has called us to love and care for all people.
